Where it all began

Avance Photography was launched on the 1st of August 2008, owned by Ernst and Leigh-Ann van Rensburg.
Leigh-Ann has many years experience as photographer and graphic designer and strives to give clients ultimate service and quality.

Photography & Videography is our passion - and it shows! Spontaneous moments combined with relaxed poses will create lifestyle photographs.. Emotions captured in 2 dimention.

Between January 2006 and July 2008 Leigh-Ann photographed 57 weddings as assistant photographer and we have done 80+ weddings since starting the company three years ago. We have done 600+ photo shoots in the studio, not including mini photo shoots and shoots at other locations.

I truly felt alive for the first time almost 5 years ago when I woke up to go to my first day at work, knowing that I'll LOVE whatever I do today. First photo I ever took: The sun setting over a very small town in the middle of the Freestate - more than 14 years ago!
Never stopped being "trigger happy" to this day.

To me, it's about recording a still moment or a clip of life and transforming it into an unforgettable memory for you to share with anyone you choose. Paying great attention to the finest details and combining it with passion, patience and taking pride in what i do, reflects in my artistic creations. I enjoy exploring the amazing world of macro photography. It captures me and I capture it.

I was recently asked why I do what I do, WHY PHOTOGRAPHY? My answer was simple, I love the feeling I get when I’m doing it. How many people can honestly say they love doing what they are doing? I learn something new every single day, whether it be about photography or the object / person that I am photographing. A thought that will stick with me through my journey of photography is this: “Powers of observation are everything. Snapping a camera is trivial.”
